How to Properly Install PP Floor Protection Sheets
2026-05-05Polypropylene (PP) floor protection sheets are often used in construction, renovation and warehouse projects to protect floors from damage, dust, paint and heavy foot traffic. Proper installation is essential to ensure their effectiveness.
1. Floor preparation
Before installation, ensure that the floor is clean, dry and free of dust, debris or sharp objects. A smooth surface ensures that the sheets lie flat and minimises slipping during use.
2. Lay the sheets correctly
Start at one corner of the area to be covered and lay the PP sheets on the floor in an orderly manner. Ensure complete coverage of the area to be protected, especially in high traffic areas.

3. Overlap the edges
When laying multiple sheets, overlap the edges by approximately 5-10 cm. This prevents gaps and provides continuous protection from dust, paint or liquids.
4. Tape
Use strong adhesive tape to secure the seams and edges of the sheets. This will prevent them from slipping or twisting, especially in heavy-duty environments.
5. Stability Check
After installation is complete, walk over the area to ensure that all sheets are flat and securely fastened. Adjust any loose or uneven areas as necessary.
6. Care During Use
Keep the surface clean throughout the project and re-tape any edges that may have come loose. Damaged sheets should be replaced immediately to maintain optimal protection.
7. Removal and Reuse
After the project is complete, carefully remove the sheets. If they are still in good condition, clean them and store them properly for future reuse.
