PP corrugated plastic sheets are widely used for packaging, protection, signage, construction, agriculture, and industrial applications because they are lightweight, waterproof, durable, and resistant to many chemicals. One common question when selecting this material is: what temperature can PP corrugated plastic sheets withstand?

Generally, polypropylene (PP) has good temperature resistance compared with many other commonly used plastics. PP corrugated plastic sheets can typically be used continuously at temperatures of approximately -20°C to +80°C, depending on the sheet structure, thickness, formulation, and specific application. For short periods, PP may withstand higher temperatures, but prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures can affect its rigidity, dimensional stability, and mechanical strength.

At low temperatures, PP corrugated sheets remain relatively durable and flexible, making them suitable for many cold-weather packaging and protection applications. However, as temperatures fall significantly below the recommended operating range, polypropylene can become less flexible and more susceptible to impact damage.

At higher temperatures, the material gradually becomes softer. Although PP has a relatively high melting point of around 160–170°C, the melting point should not be considered the recommended working temperature. Long-term exposure to temperatures close to the melting point can cause deformation and loss of structural performance.

For outdoor applications, temperature is only one factor to consider. Direct sunlight, UV exposure, humidity, and repeated temperature changes can also affect the service life of plastic sheets. For applications requiring extended outdoor use, UV-stabilized PP corrugated plastic sheets are recommended to improve resistance to sunlight and weathering.

The required temperature resistance also depends on the application. For ordinary packaging, dividers, pallet layer pads, and temporary protection, standard PP corrugated sheets are generally suitable. For applications involving hot environments, steam, heated surfaces, or industrial processing, the actual operating temperature and exposure time should be evaluated before selecting the material.
